Top Three Family Dog Breeds

For this month I am doing a co-post with my fellow dog lovers who run the blogs “Redamancy” by Taryn, and “Love Is a Four Legged Word” by Madison.
The third best family dog is a Golden Retriever. The best traits about the Golden Retriever is their natural looking, athletic ability. Goldens are cheerful and very loving, perfect for families with young children or babies. When they do bark it is welcoming and warm rather than protective. They may need toys to chew and play with, but in the end we can say that they are very eager to please and willing to learn good manners or tricks. These retrievers provide a healthy relationship for any age and can even be used as service dogs or companions.
The second best dog is the German Shepherd. These dogs are known as the most loyal and loving dogs around. Their loyalty is often put to work in police work, military, and as guard dogs. Not only are they very smart and well behaved,  they are gentle enough for families with children of any age. Some families even feel that the German Shepherd shows signs of protection for their children. They do not require a lot of  maintenance but do need a large amount of exercise within their daily routine. Therefore, a city environment would not best suit the needs of a German Shepherd.
The top rated dog for families is the Labrador Retriever. They have obtained the number one spot on AKC's list of top dogs since 2002. Not only do they have a gorgeous appeal, they have exquisite behavior. They are well known for their patience, along with their many other qualities such as friendliness, intelligence, and their relaxed temperament. Labradors are mainly used as hunting dogs, however, they are great family dogs as well. They require lots of exercise and are considered the athletes of the dog world.

The Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, and the Labrador Retriever all show outstanding, similar characteristics for amazing family dogs. All these dogs require lots of room to run and exercise to be happy and healthy. They are all great options for families to consider who are interested in a four legged friend.  However, keep in mind that not all dogs are exactly like we have explained above. A dog’s background influences their behavior immensely. In order to find the ideal dog for your family, you have to be willing to take time and research what will best fit each person's needs in your family.
