This month I am doing a review on the children's movie, Zootopia. This animated movie first aired on March 4, 2016 and recently was the Oscar winner for Animated Feature Film. Zootopia can be enjoyed by all ages and sexes and provides valuable life lessons that are good for children, but also adults.
While Zootopia is often chosen as a movie to watch because of its cuteness, the meaning within the film goes much deeper than it may appear. Judy Hopps, the officer bunny, is faced with struggles throughout her life. Since she was a baby, her dreams were to move to Zootopia and be a top officer. However, no one, including her family, believed she would be able to be a police officer. She was just too small. Judy did not pay attention to everyone's doubt and believed in her abilities. She went through police school, moved to Zootopia and joined the police department. She quickly got involved to crack a case that many officers before had failed. Long story short, Officer Hopps solved the case and saved the city from the mad-infected animals. Many people can learn from Judy Hopps. In everyone's life, there will be certain people who will never believe in them. These people will be discouraging and will never be there as support. Just like Officer Hopps, a person can not listen to everybody else and be affected by what they say. In order to be successful, a person must take all those negative words said about their choices, and turn them into motivation to prove all of those questioning people wrong just like Judy Hopps had in Zootopia.
There is not much wrong with the film Zootopia. However, if a parent is reading this blog, be informed that a few parts of this movie may be scary to children. One scene takes place at an evil laboratory where the bad animals are hunting down Judy and a few other of her helpers. None of the animals are hurt in this scene, however, it gives off a spooky feeling.Besides this scene, the rest of Zootopia is very cute and enjoyable to watch.
If you are looking for a pleasurable and entertaining movie to watch with your children, spouse, or friends, I highly recommend Zootopia as an option. Not only will you have a good time watching the adorable movie, but as mentioned above, Zootopia teaches many lessons within the film that are very useful to anyone's life.
If you are interested in learning what top brand names think about the movie, listed below are just a few reviews I have found on Zootopia,
-"Just when it was looking like animated animal movies had run out of
anything original to say, along comes the smartly amusing, crisply
relevant Zootopia to handily demonstrate there's still plenty of
bite left in the anthropomorphic CG menagerie," Hollywood Reporter.
- "Simply put, Zootopia is about what it means to be suspicious of somebody else, simply because of who they are, and by situating that story among animals — who already have natural,
antagonistic predator-prey relationships — it can explore that dynamic
without feeling preachy,"Vox.
Great review!I also think this movie is pleasurable and entertaining. I also think that it is important that parents know that may be scary and that people should follow their dreams no matter what others think.
ReplyDeleteI like the ideas you state throughout your review. I feel that you looked at both the pros and cons of this fun, entertaining movie. I agree with you that not only is this a good choice of entertainment, but a good lesson learner for people of all ages. Judy Hobbs had what seemed like obstacle after obstacle but she persevered through it. Even though a goal or dream may seem out of reach, you can always go for it and the results may surprise you in the end.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting how you cold your audience how both adult and children could enjoy the movie you reviewed. You gave a very good evaluation of the movie, but didn't spoil it. I would kind-of like to watch it now!
